At young age I started to draw, and when I was seven my father gave me an anatomy book and I was asthonished about the human structures. It gave me a shock to see the reality about physical proportions and my quest for more started. At eleven I was inspired by works of Miro, Michelangelo and the Pop Art Movement. My first study trip to Rome and Florence at seventeen had a huge influence on my work, then I had the opportunity to see the originals, fresco's, paintings and sculptures of the old Italien masters as Michelangelo, Botticelli and Caravaggio.
At the age of eighteen at my entrance examination at the Art Academy Minerva I showed already a professional presentation of landscapes, drawings of human figures and other features.Beside my interest in grafical techniques, such as the dry point etching, I finished my study on the Art Academy in the Classical sector. My washed ink drawings are inspired by the old Chinese ink drawings and the French pastel masters, through the years I created a new style by applying pastel with this ink technique.
